Tinecka White has been a dedicated member of the United Needs and Abilities (UNA) team since 2009. She began her career with UNA working directly with individuals served in the residential program. Over the years, she has grown within the organization and now serves as a Program Coordinator.
“When you are part of UNA,” Tinecka says, “you grow a bond.”
This belief has guided her journey with the organization and reflects the strong relationships she has built with the individuals, families, and staff she works with each day.
Tinecka is passionate about helping others and is known for her willingness to listen and support those around her, even when it simply means allowing someone the space to share their concerns. She believes compassion requires patience and understanding, and she notes that this perspective helps her become more effective in her role.
Although Tinecka originally pursued professional studies in nursing, she believes her work at UNA is helping prepare her for a future role as a Nursing Case Manager, a goal she hopes to achieve in the coming years.
Tinecka lives by the motto, “Stand firm in what you believe in.” She applies this philosophy to her work by managing her client assignments with integrity and care. Through her example, she demonstrates the importance of valuing others individuals served, their families, and staff members alike while helping people recognize their own strengths and worth. This sense of community and family is what initially drew Tinecka to UNA and continues to inspire her commitment to the organization.
Tinecka is a resident of Maryland’s Lower Eastern Shore and lives with her husband and their three children.
She considers her children to be the greatest influence in her life and often says, “They have made me a better person.”
