United Needs and Abilities has been a blessing in my life. I applied through their Cash Assistance Program for bus tickets and was able to receive support. I had been having difficulties getting to and from my weekly medical appointments. With the support of UNA, I was provided bus tickets through Shore Transit and received door-to-door transportation for about six months. It was truly a blessing not to have this burden. Many organizations do not have funds available to help, but this organization was there for me in my time of need.

I recently learned about United Needs and Abilities through a family friend. I work at Wicomico County Middle School, and during a difficult time in my life I was unable to afford a new scooter. I contacted the Cash Assistance Program and completed an application. There was no guarantee that I would be approved, but I was grateful to receive support in purchasing a new scooter. I was beyond happy and filled with emotion to learn that this resource was available.

I recently received services through the United Needs and Abilities Employment Services Program and successfully completed the program after obtaining a job in the community. I reached out to UNA when my hearing began to deteriorate and my insurance would not cover a new order for hearing aids. The Associate Director, Whitney, helped connect me with other organizations in the community that assisted in paying for my hearing aids. With their help, I now have my new hearing aids and I am happy knowing I can reach out to them whenever I need support.
