Chuck Shorley


Chuck Shorley was born in Salisbury, Md. and is a 1971 graduate of St. Andrew’s School in Middletown, DE. He holds a B.A. from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA. 

Chuck holds the professional title of REALTOR Emeritus and has been active in Real Estate in Ocean City from the age of 14 obtaining a Maryland Real Estate License in 1974, earned the title Graduate of the REALTORS Institute (GRI) in 1978. He was Broker/Owner of Maridel Beach Real Estate in Ocean City from 1978-1990, an Associate Broker at Holiday Real Estate in the early 90’s and is now Broker of Shore-Lea Realty LLC. Active mostly now in Property Management and Commercial transactions, he is a past REALTOR of the YEAR of the Greater Ocean City (now Coastal) Board of REALTORS and served for many years on and twice chaired the local REALTORS Professional Standards Committee. Chuck was also certified by the National Association of REALTORS as a Certified Professional Standards Procedures Training Instructor and taught for Realtor Associations in Maryland and Delaware as well as serving as Chairman of the Maryland Association of REALTORS (MAR) Professional Standards Committee and MAR Professional Standards Instructors Committee.

He was a long time member and Past President of the Berlin-Ocean City Jaycees. He served the Maryland Jaycees as a District and Regional Director and was conferred the honor of being named a JCI Senator in 2019. While serving as a Jaycee in the 80’s, Chuck chaired a Jaycee project to benefit the Epilepsy Association of the Eastern Shore (EAES) and now United Needs and Abilities) transporting individuals effected by Epilepsy to and from self-help group meetings at the Wicomico County Library (EPILTRANSPO). Shortly thereafter he joined the EAES Board of Directors and served many years on the Executive Committee and is a two time Past President of the organization. He also has served as President and Pledge Master of Sigma Alpha Mu Social Fraternity at UVA and as President of the Alumni Corporation Board of St. Andrew’s School where he also served briefly on the school’s Board of Trustees.

He resides in West Ocean City with his wife, Penny Rose. Additionally, Chuck and his wife are inextricably involved with antique and collectible buying and selling D/B/A Up Ewer Alley and Utter Clutter with a seasonal store on Route 50 in West OC as well as operating mall spaces in Berlin.
