United Needs & Abilities is looking for caring individuals who can be a positive roll model to developmentally disabled residents and to assist with daily living skills. Some of the duties include, but are not limited to: promoting independence, activities, cooking, cleaning, medication administration, documentation, transportation, personal care, and heavy lifting for some consumers.
The SUPPORT COUNSELOR position is essentially “on-call”. Support Counselors choose their hours from available pool of hours offered. Hours are generally offered once a month when the next month's schedule is being completed. Hours are also offered, at times, the same day the shift is needed to be covered due to last minute call-out. Continued good standing with the agency is not dependent on working a minimum number of hours per pay period. Benefits are not offered with this position. Experience in a related field and/or all DDA required training and certification's is preferred. Training is provided and required to be completed within three months to maintain employment. Re-certification are also required to be maintained for relevant training's. Interviews occur as needed, but generally occur quarterly.
